The Demand Working Group’s goal is to formulate options for the improved management of human resources in support of more equitable, efficient, and better quality health systems. The work recognizes the context of demographic and epidemiological transitions, globalization and macro-economic policies, health sector reform, and public-private mixes in labor markets. Five of 14 areas will be selected for review and case studies. These areas are: team building, incentives, migration, financial reform, retention, public sector reform, macro-economic policies, quality management, public-private mix, demand projections, decentralization, utilization, international trade in services, and new skills.
